Now that all NHL and even American Hockey League teams have converted to the much ballyhooed RbK Edge uniform system, it seems fair game to take a look back and see who took advantage of the opportunity, and who, ah, missed out.

The change provided teams with a golden opportunity to introduce some nice new designs, colors and logos which, in some cases, were badly needed.

Never before had any of the four major North American professional team sports introduced such a sweeping uniform change as in the NHL this season. With new fabrics, different tailoring and altered colors, the change basically provided NHL clubs with a blank template.

From where we sit, in some cases, the change is so negligible that it really represents no change at all. In other examples, the tweaks are just the right touch. And in others still, though there are few of them, the redesign is a slam-dunk winner.

Best Jersey Changes
Washington Capitals: without a doubt, the best of the best. The return to the original 1970s logo and colors, with appropriate modernization, makes Alex Ovechkin and company the team to watch in 2007-08.

Worst Jersey Changes
Vancouver Canucks: nice change back to the blue, green and white colors, but, oh, that whale ‘C’ logo.

Much Ado About Nothing
Toronto Maple Leafs
Montreal Canadiens
Boston Bruins
